In response to a 2021 reader survey from DecisionHealth on the new E/M office visit guidelines, coders and medical practice staff expressed that they have lingering questions and are scrambling to keep up with the corrections and updates associated with this year's revised guidelines.

They also expressed that they are mostly happy about this year’s revised guidelines and that the transition, so far, has been smooth.
